Anniversary of Mason Dixon Line

The October T.H.M.A. meeting honored the 250th Anniversary of the Mason Dixon Line.  Starting in 1765, Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon were hired to settle a long-standing dispute between the Calvert and Penn families.

Richard Hull, of Westminster, talked about the Mason Dixon Line mile marker that is on loan to the Taneytown History Museum and is presently on display at the Taneytown Branch New Windsor State Bank.  A member of the Mason Dixon Line Preservation Partnership will relate the history of the Line and the important work of preserving the historical markers.
