The Taneytown Heritage and Museum Association Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, invites you to become a member or make a donation to support our mission of preserving and sharing Taneytown’s rich history. Your contributions help us maintain our museum, create engaging exhibits, and host community events that celebrate our heritage.
Become a Member: Join our community with an annual membership for just $10 per year. Your membership supports our efforts to keep Taneytown’s history alive and accessible for all. Make a Donation: Your generous donations, in any amount, directly fund our programs and operations. Prefer to ensure 100% of your donation goes to our mission? Your Support Makes a Difference
Funds from memberships and donations are used to:
- Host speaker programs in March, April, May, September, and October.
- Care for and maintain the museum property.
- Create new exhibits and maintain existing ones.
- Host special shows-of-interest throughout the year.
- Celebrate Hudson Day annually, honoring our history as the former Hudson dealership.
- Curate engaging, family-friendly exhibits.
- Host educational speakers at our general membership meetings.
- Organize special events celebrating Taneytown’s heritage.
- Maintain and operate our facility for the community’s enjoyment.
- Support general maintenance to preserve our museum.

Proceeds from items in the gift shop help support the museum in its endeavor to “keep Taneytown’s history alive” through displays available to the public.

On the front lawn of the museum grounds, you will find the Taneytown School bell from 1900. The bell was dedicated on April 2, 2017 in honor of the late George B. Crouse and the late George W. Naylor, founders of the Taneytown History Museum.
