Guests were taken back to the Eisenhower era at our meeting on Sept 26th. Stefanie Strosnider Basalik, curator at the Carroll County Farm Museum, shared insight into the life of Mamie and  Ike Eisenhower. Mrs. Eisenhower is of particular interest to Stefanie and she refers to her as ‘the lost First Lady.’   Mamie did not give speeches and was not featured in the press but was a very active force behind the scenes (and behind Ike!). Eisenhower era  collectibles were brought to the meeting to share with the group!
