Cathy Baty, Curator of Collections at the Historical Society of Carroll County, talked about the life and times of Eli Bentley, Taneytown famous watch and clockmaker. Mr. Bentley, who was already an established clockmaker when he moved to Taneytown in 1778/79, was also a silversmith who also made and repaired watches. Attendees were encouraged to bring pictures of their clocks and join in the conversation.
