Barns and quilts are both an important part of our local history. Quilt making is one of our oldest skill and art forms, and barns are a part of Carroll County’s strong agricultural history. On Monday May 23 the meeting featured a talk about our county’s Barn Quilt Trail. Bonnie Staub, Manager of Carroll County Office of Tourism, talked about the driving trail which showcases 22 quilt blocks placed on barns or historical buildings throughout the county. We also had two Taneytown area families tell of their own barn and quilt block history.
